CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

2025 FRANKSTON LIFE COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS LUNCH 

 

Thank you for your interest in applying to volunteer at the 2025 Frankston Life Community Christmas Day Lunch, which will be held as an indoor event at the Frankston Arts Centre.

​

At the end of this invitation, you will find a link to the Online Volunteer Application Form. 

Before completing the form, please read the following carefully:

 

 

WHO CAN APPLY

The Volunteer Application Form can be used to register an individual or a family group (up to 5 members aged 16+).

• Please provide names and contact details for each person applying.

• Children under 16 years are welcome to attend with their volunteering parent(s), but:

• They cannot be allocated an official volunteer role.

• They must remain under their parent’s supervision for the entire event.

• If bringing children under 16, please nominate at least one parent for a Table Host role, so that supervision is consistent throughout the day.
   

 

VOLUNTEER ROLES

A list of available roles is provided in the application form.

•  

• Children’s Entertainment volunteers must hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
   

• Each applicant can select:
   

  • One preferred role, or
     

  • Several roles, giving us flexibility to allocate you where most needed.
     

• Not sure? Select “Any role” and we’ll place you where the team requires.
   

 

KEY DATES

• Applications will close once all volunteer roles are filled. Positions are allocated on a first-come basis, so we encourage you to apply promptly.
   

• All successful applicants will be notified by 1 November (or earlier if roles are filled sooner).
   

• Successful volunteers will also be invited to attend an In-Person Volunteer Orientation session. This briefing covers role allocations, duty-of-care, and safety procedures to ensure a smooth and safe event.
   

• Attendance at Orientation is required for all volunteers (first-time and returning). If you cannot attend in person, you must watch the recording to be prepared for your role.
   

 

STANDBY LIST

If your application is received after places are filled, you will be notified and added to a standby list.

If vacancies arise, standby volunteers will be contacted.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO WERE INVOLVED IN 2024!

It gives us great satisfaction to report that over 550+ people – men, women, children and volunteers - came together on Christmas Day at the Frankston Arts Centre to celebrate the true spirit of Christmas, which included all the festive trimmings, a great meal, lively entertainment and gifts for everyone. Our satisfaction is heightened by the knowledge that most of our guests would be otherwise alone or deprived of experiencing Christmas Day in this way, were it not for the Frankston Life Community Christmas Day Lunch.    

Once again, we were supported by a great team of enthusiastic volunteers who planned, organised, set-up/packed-down, cooked, served and entertained in the lead-up to the event and on Christmas Day. 

  

And none of this would be possible without the kind and generous contributions of our valued donors and supporters, who provide the funding and resources to enable this event to happen in a very special way.
